hth华体会体育app官网The LSU School of Architecture aims to graduate professionals that understand the knowledge needed to collaborate in addressing contemporary challenges and have the skills required to integrate this knowledge through the creative process of design.Architectural design is an iterative process that is fundamentally unique because its is based on integrating diverse intellectual and representational skills, such as research, analysis, synthesis writing, and making as well as the integration of diverse fields of knowledge, such as engineering, social sciences, humanities, and art.

hth华体会体育app官网The undergraduate degree in architecture (BArch) requires five-years of study and 150 credit-hours of courses.At the end of the first year of study, all students may apply for continued admission into the upper division in the program.

A unique aspect of the design curriculum is the studio culture.Students enroll in sequential design studios during every semester of the program, starting in the fall of their first year.Studios are six-credit-hour project-based courses that focus on the act of designing, introducing students to design principles, methods, and the creative process through studio-wide and individual critiques.The curriculum is composed of 60 credits of design studio, 30 credits of core architectural courses, 39 credits of general education courses (ILC), 12 credits of professional electives, and 9 credits of free electives.
