The LSU College of Art + Design Distinguished Lecture Series presents Lois Weinthal, Wednesday, March 6, at 5:00 p.m.in the first floor lecture hall (RM.103) of the Art + Design Building.

Lois Weinthal is Chair of the School of Interior Design at Ryerson University in Toronto Ontario, Canada.hth华体会体育app官网She previously taught in the School of Architecture from at the University of Texas- Austin from 1999-2012 and was a director of the BFA and MFA Interior Design Program at Parsons The New School for Design from 2007-2009.

Weinthal was a recent editor of an interior design theory reader:Toward a New Interior, published by Princeton Architectural Press in Spring 2011.She has been previously published articles in the journal of Architectural Education titled "House Lab: The House as Instigator of Full-Scale Constructions" based upon an advanced design studio at the University of Texas Austin.She has received grants from Graham Foundation, a Fulbright Adward, and a DAAD Award for residency in Berlin that led to the exhibit, " Berlin: A Renovation of Postcards" a project included in Building Questions: Installations by Architects by Princeton Architectural Press, 2009.hth华体会体育app官网In 2007, she curated "Architecture Inside/Out" at the Center for Architecture in New York City.

She co-founded and organized with Kent Kleinman,After Taste, a yearly symposia dedicated to the critical review of interior design identifying pressing contemporary issues and practices that will challenge practitioners in the future, and will serve as co-editor of the forthcoming After Taste publications.She has previously lectured at the Architectural League in New York City and the Museum of the City of New York in addition to national and international lectures and has received invitations to participate in reviews at Columbia University, Cooper Union, and SCI-Arc.

hth华体会体育app官网Weinthal received her bachelor of Architecture and bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design and her master degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art.
