Dr.Marchita Mauck served on the art history faculty at LSU for 43 years (1967–2010), and from 1999 to 2008, she was associate dean of the College of Art + Design.While at LSU, she taught a wide range of courses, including introduction to fine arts, early Christian and Byzantine art, Romanesque art, and Gothic art, and she led seminars at LSU Honors College.hth华体会体育app官网Widely recognized for her contributions to religious art and architecture, Mauck has written books, articles, and dictionary entries on these subjects, and she has spoken at numerous national and international conferences.Mauck has worked as a liturgical consultant since 1987, serving as an intermediary between architects and churches or parishes as clients.She advises both the designers and the clients not only on the traditional but the psychological, anthropological, and sociological aspects of sacred spaces.Among her many awards, Mauck was the recipient of the 2013 Elbert M.hth华体会体育app官网Conover Memorial Award from the American Institute of Architects Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art and Architecture (IFRAA), a career achievement award for the contributions to the profession of architecture by a non-architect.Since retirement, Mauck has begun working in the fiber arts—quilting and fabric dying.She teaches art history courses at the LSU Lifelong Learning Institute and she leads art history group tours across Europe for a German travel company.
