The Student Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects is the official student body organization recognized by ASLA, the professional organization representing landscape architects nationally and internationally, and its local Louisiana chapter.Elected officers of the student chapter of ASLA sit on the executive committee of the Louisiana chapter, and a representative elected from all student chapters sits on the National ASLA Board of Trustees.Serving as a liaison between students, ASLA, and practicing professionals, the student organization provides its members contacts with other students, schools, and professionals locally and nationwide!gives them access to valuable literature, information, and job opportunities!encourages community service!and, in general, prepares students for their professional careers.In addition, SC/ASLA represents the student body on various school committees, makes recommendations to the director, hosts visiting speakers and scholars, organizes various scholarly and social activities, and has web links posted through the local state chapter's website.hth华体会体育app官网All Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture students are encouraged to participate.The local dues are $25, and national dues are $50 per year, which includes a free subscription tohth华体会体育app官网Landscape Architecture Magazine(LAM), discounts to all fee-based national and state chapter ASLA services and events—including the Annual Meeting and EXPO—bookstore offerings, and a one-year free membership to the national organization upon graduation.
StudioCulture
StudioCulture is a collaborative environment not restricted to one place – the traditional idea of studio culture becomes expanded to encompass studios across all disciplines.StudioCulture offers students an opportunity to work with students from other disciplines and gain valuable insight.StudioCulture offers design-build projects which can be object based, architecturally based, landscape-based, and everything in between.Dues are $25 per semester or $40 per year.StudioCulture's goal is to facilitate cross-collaboration throughout the College of Art & Design to help architects, designers, and artists approach projects through various scopes.
